THE LP AVENTURE LIFT-KIT VS FULL SUSPENSION REPLACEMENT
Posted by AWD Enhancements on 16th May 2023
We are often asked for advice on the LP Aventure lift kit vs a complete suspension replacement to achieve the same outcome.
Below we have put together some points for consideration for both options.
Option 1:
Fit the LP Aventure lift kit to the current suspension for extra ground clearance
Pros:
- It increases ground clearance, improving off-road capabilities and handling on uneven terrain.
- Minimises waste and environmental impact by utilising the existing suspension system, reducing the need for discarding and replacing components.
- Generally more cost-effective compared to replacing the entire suspension system.
- Preserves the original ride and feel of the vehicle and maintains original factory wheel alignment specifications.
- LP Aventure lift kits have passed several tests for stability control effectiveness on different Subaru models. (see our blog)
Cons:
- Limited to the capabilities current suspension system due to kilometres, age and may not offer the same level of performance as a new suspension.
Option 2:
- Fit new suspension for extra ground clearance and discard the existing one.
- Pros:
- It increases ground clearance, improving off-road capabilities and handling on uneven terrain.
- It can potentially address any existing shock or spring issues for wear and tear.
Cons:
- It involves discarding the existing struts and springs which may be in perfect working order, generating waste and increasing environmental impact.
- It can change the vehicle's on-road feel due to shock valving and spring weights.
- It can be more expensive since it requires purchasing and installing a new suspension system.
