HIGHBEAM TRIGGER FOR VEHICLES FITTED WITH FACTORY LED HEADLIGHTS

Posted by AWD ENHANCEMENTS PTY LTD on 2nd Nov 2019

Vehicles equipped with factory delivered LED headlights offer a real challenge when trying to accessorise the car with either driving lights or a light bar.

The problem with LED headlight equipped vehicles, is that in most cases, there is no separate high-beam circuit that can be tapped into, to trigger a relay to power the accessory lights. It is mandatory here in Australia that the accessory lights can only operate while the vehicle lights are on high beam.

Many newer models including Subaru & Toyota with LED headlights, are not equipped with separate high and low beam circuits and therefore only have one headlight circuit. The dipping function for these vehicles LED headlight is triggered by a digital signal from the CANBUS (digital network) to move an electronic bulb shade to provide a different light beam to give it a dipped appearance.

Fortunately for us, we now have a module that can be easily connected to the CANBUS network and it is pre-programmed to look for the High Beam trigger signal. From this, the module can provide a 12-volt output that can be fed directly to a relay to power up those driving lights when the headlights are switched to highbeam. AWD Enhancements now has the solution to resolve the issue.

So, problem solved.

These HIGHBEAM trigger modules are now available from AWD Enhancements P/L in our online store at https://awdenhancements.com.au/highbeam-connect/ or by calling us on 02 43020571
